On July 9th, 2024 the Concord Township Trustees met in a regular session to adopt a resolution pertaining to placing a EMS and Fire Levy on the November 2024 election ballot. The proposed new levy of 1.75mils will generate $218,000.00. The levy funding will be used to maintain and expand upon current staffing for emergency coverage.

Currently, Concord Township holds a "continuous levy". This is an operational levy that was voted in as "continuous" and covers fuel costs, insurance, maintenance costs, mandatory equipment testing, utilities, supplies, etc. Concord Township also holds contracts with mutual aids such as Union Township Fire & EMS, Scioto Township Fire & EMS, and Huntington Township Fire & EMS to reimburse them for their professional services. These contracts prevent our residents from being "hard billed" for the EMS services provided by said townships.

Your personal levy costs can easily be calculated.

  • - Search for your property on the Ross County Auditor's website at https://auditor.rosscountyohio.gov/

  • - Find the 35% Assessed Total under Valuation.

  • - Multiply that number by 0.00175.

  • - That number will be your total ANNUAL cost with the proposed levy.

The Board of Trustees in conjunction with Fire and EMS admin hosted levy presentation meetings on 9/10/24 and 10/12/24. These presentations were a great opportunity to hear the facts and details pertaining to the levy, what current operations are like, what is at stake, and future plans and goals. Several members of the community attended with great questions, suggestions, concerns, and strategies. We thank you for your participation!
